Zenless Zone Zero Soldier 0 Anby PV: Death and Rebirth

The "Soldier 0 Anby" character PV finally fleshed out her backstory. Surprisingly, among the poster characters of Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero, it's Zenless Zone Zero that revealed hers first despite being the latest release.

The first thing that catches the eye is the Easter egg in this PV. The title Death and Rebirth directly references Evangelion: Death and Rebirth, the iconic EVA film.

The film is divided into two parts: "Death" (a recap compilation of TV episodes 1-24) and "Rebirth" (continuing from TV episode 24).

The PV also includes many shots that pay tribute to EVA. The concept of Anby's "Zero-Type Replica" could potentially be referencing the EVA Unit-00.

The PV content introduces Anby's backstory, spanning from her creation to meeting Nicole. Anby is a Replica soldier - an artificial human weapon designed for combat. Their units are numbered from 0 to 11, totaling 12.

Anby is the most exceptional member among them. Not only excelling in combat, she even instantly responded to the self-termination protocol ordered by the Institute without the slightest hesitation.

From the previous PV titled "Candidate Zero", we can ascertain that the researchers intended to keep only one member of the Silver Squad. Replica units failing combat evaluations would be disposed of as experimental consumables.

Having developed emotional bonds with her "sisters" in the Silver Squad, Anby deliberately displayed tactically reckless flaws to protect her teammates.

A critical detail about the "self-termination": Original Anby (Soldier 0) lacks a neck collar, while Cunning Hares Anby wears a collar in both artwork and gameplay, likely concealing old scars - a painful memory she avoids confronting.

From the ether crystal visible behind Nicole rescuing Anby, it's evident Anby was cruelly discarded into the Hollow before being salvaged by Nicole.

Anby's survival has two plausible explanations:

Prior suicide attempts (with treatments and her enhanced replica physiology) granted resistance capabilities;

Researcher hidden mercy - the PV shows her panicked close-up when Anby defied orders, suggesting potential intervention during disposal.

Thus, Anby's experiences explain why Cunning Hares Anby refuses to mention her past - these are indeed excruciating memories.

Additionally, regarding Soldier 11: her established characterization includes extreme hatred for traitors (as seen in "Mole in the Hole"), with rumors even among rebels about her torturing betrayers.

This behavior likely originated from the researchers' brainwashing. After observing the "perfect specimen" Anby's "disloyalty," they forcibly implanted obedience protocols into Soldier 11.

With this, all PV clues have been analyzed. Hidden details abound, and we can anticipate how Anby and Cunning Hares will ultimately destroy the sinful Silver Army.
