ZZZ Top 5 Enhanced Characters Recap, Strong Comeback!

by ZZZLucien 22 May 2026

Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.0 is almost here! Over time, quite a few characters have been submerged in the "torrent" of power creep, leaving them unable to find a place. However, some characters, relying on excellent mechanics, have successfully "made a comeback." Today, we'll recap the top 5 "returning" strengthened characters in Zenless Zone Zero. Let's see which ones you've already built!

Version 2.0: Qingyi

Zenless Zone Zero Qingyi

As an old Stun character released in Version 1.1, Qingyi had become relatively outdated by Version 2.0. Although her numerical strength remained high, her playstyle did not fit well with the then-popular multi-set Anomaly Disorder teams or the on-field reliant direct damage main DPS characters.

Zenless Zone Zero Yixuan

However, the introduction of Yixuan in Version 2.0 brought Qingyi a transformative revival. Since achieving a high score against the boss Miasma Priest required triggering Daze four times, and other Stun characters lacked sufficient Daze efficiency, Yixuan—capable of staying on-field and dealing burst damage—naturally became a key part of the multi-Daze strategy. Paired with Qingyi, their practical performance was even better than with her designated exclusive Stun partner, Ju Fufu. This lifted her from a slightly declining state back into the meta.

Version 2.1: Jane Doe

Zenless Zone Zero Jane Doe

The process of Jane's return to team compositions is, I believe, familiar to most Proxies. As early as the end of the 1.0 era, her numbers had already become rather lackluster, and she only remained in some teams due to an environment where enemies were weak to Physical damage.

Zenless Zone Zero Alice

With the release of Alice in Version 2.1, Jane's sub-DPS playstyle was discovered, thanks to the mechanic of her Assault being able to critically hit. She leapt from a niche anomaly DPS to a dedicated teammate for the strongest Physical DPS. Jane's Cinema II became a highly sought-after enhancement for many Alice players. Although Jane has now been outperformed by Nangong Yu in terms of raw numbers, Jane and Alice still form a very strong lineup, and the shift in her status remains fondly discussed.

Version 2.5: Soldier 11

Zenless Zone Zero Soldier 11

In the second major wave of balance adjustments in Zenless Zone Zero, Soldier 11 received the most significant enhancement. Due to the game's relatively mild power creep, Soldier 11 received a slight numerical buff and a reworked combat system with a high skill ceiling, transforming her directly into a competitor with Evelyn for the title of strongest Fire DPS, delivering outstanding performance.

Currently, no Fire DPS with exceptionally high numbers or extremely simple execution has been released. Therefore, Soldier 11, Evelyn, and Banyue each have their own advantages and are considered to be on equal footing.

Version 2.7: Hoshimi Miyabi

Zenless Zone Zero Miyabi

As a Void Hunter main DPS, Hoshimi Miyabi has always been the focus of players seeking character strength. From Version 2.0 onwards, whether Miyabi could leverage her advantages within a version became a major point of attention for many players. During this period, she was indeed often restricted by the meta, even becoming difficult to use for several patches. However, it proved that a Void Hunter is still a Void Hunter.

Zenless Zone Zero Ukinami Yuzuha

In Zenless Zone ZeroVersion 2.1, Ukinami Yuzuha debuted as her dedicated support. The team of Miyabi, Yuzuha, and Cang Jue took the stage, becoming the best Miyabi lineup for multiple subsequent versions. Version 2.5 enhanced Burnice, giving rise to the Miyabi, Yuzuha, Burnice system tailored for specific environments. Finally, the arrival of Nangong Yu in Version 2.7 provided the most significant enhancement for Miyabi. The formerly somewhat numerically lagging Miyabi received a substantial boost, solidifying her as arguably the most resilient and comeback-capable character in Zenless Zone Zero.

Version 2.7: Seed

Zenless Zone Zero Seed

Since Seed release, Seed never had a favorable output environment. At launch, she lacked suitable teammates and had to make do with Nekomata and Harumasa as temporary options. Although she had solid stats, her damage-dealing mechanics were extremely outdated, making her seem primitive for a Version 2.0 character. Ophys, released in the same version, soon joined her team, but didn't provide enough of a boost, and her performance remained awkward even with further investment.

Zenless Zone Zero Cissia

After a long wait, Cissia, released in the latter half of Version 2.7, finally brought Seed the ultimate enhancement. With DPS-level output strength, excellent Electric team support capabilities, and a convenient high-energy-cost Special Skill, she perfectly fits all of Seed's needs. Aside from Seed himself still having some mechanical shortcomings, this team composition is now strong enough. With this, Seed has returned to the T0 tier.

That concludes the top five comeback characters in Zenless Zone Zero. Each has experienced glory and lows, but with powerful reinforcements, they always manage to return to the peak from down moments. Which other characters do you think have successfully made a comeback? Remember to keep following us, see you next time!
