Zenless Zone Zero Phoenix: Skills & Mindscapes & Pull Analysis
Zenless Zone Zero welcomes Phoenix, the new Version 3.3 character today. At this point, the Remielle system will get its first new driver of the 3.0 era. So what are Phoenix's exact mechanics and strength? Today we bring you Phoenix's skills, Mindscapes, and detailed pull analysis.

Character Mechanics

Phoenix is an S-Rank Fire Anomaly Agent, positioned as an on-field DPS. She can give the whole team a mechanic where Anomaly damage can crit. Besides that, she also has a fairly stable ability to trigger Abloom. In addition to covering the current weakness of the Remielle system lacking a crit multiplier, she herself can also deal higher damage than other Anomaly characters.
Skill Analysis
Core Passive: Nirvana

Unconditionally increases Phoenix's Anomaly Proficiency by 85. Also, when the team deals Anomaly damage, it applies [Sear] to enemies. While enemies have [Sear], the Anomaly damage they take can trigger crit. The base crit rate is 30%, converted from Anomaly Mastery to increase, while crit damage is fixed at 25%.
To reach 100% crit rate, Phoenix needs 255 Anomaly Mastery. This requires the Phaethon's Melody 2-piece set, an Anomaly Mastery Slot 6 disk, and a W-Engine with 30% Anomaly Mastery as its high stat.

Besides the Anomaly crit mechanic, enemies will also take damage from Phoenix every 8 seconds. This damage counts as an Enhanced Special Attack, so it can trigger the Freedom Blues 4-piece set effect, with high synergy.

When Phoenix launches a burn attack, her resistance to interruption increases. Dealing damage recovers [Pyre]. When she dies and leaves the field, she triggers [Rebirth], re-entering the field and recovering 50% HP.

When she uses an Enhanced Special Attack, Phoenix enters the [Wither and Bloom] state. While in this state, after using the Enhanced Special Attack [Dazzling Flare], using it again will change it to the Enhanced Special Attack [Falling Sun].
Additional Ability: Krampus Ace

Triggers when another [Anomaly] Agent or same-faction Agent is in the team. The crit damage of Anomaly damage taken by enemies under [Sear] is increased by 15%, bringing the Anomaly crit damage Phoenix provides from 25% to 40%.
Pyre

[Pyre] is Phoenix's unique energy, with a maximum of 120 points. Phoenix recovers [Pyre] when she launches a [burn attack].
The attacks considered as [burn attacks] are as follows: Basic Attack 3rd and 4th hits, Basic Attack [Purifying Flame], EX Special Attack, Chain Attack, and Ultimate.
After Quick Support, Assist, Dodge Counter, EX Special Attack, Chain Attack, or Ultimate is used, Phoenix can quickly follow up with Basic Attack 3rd and 4th hits.
Basic Attack: Purifying Flame

Consumes 90 [Pyre] to launch an enhanced basic attack. When it hits an enemy in Anomaly state, it triggers the [Abloom] effect. This [Abloom] can crit, and when a crit is triggered, the crit damage is increased by 40%.

EX Special Attack: Dazzling Flare

Phoenix's Enhanced Special Attacks [Dazzling Flare] and [Falling Sun] each cost 40 energy. After triggering [Dazzling Flare], if she has enough energy, she can follow up with [Falling Sun]. Using [Falling Sun] grants 1 [Ascension]. Also, when Phoenix uses [Dazzling Flare] in the [Wither and Bloom] state, her next Enhanced Special Attack is directly upgraded to [Falling Sun], letting Phoenix use the skills separately with more flexible timing.
EX Special Attack: Blazing Slash

When Phoenix has the [Ascension] effect, she can tap Special Attack to trigger this move. After a short backward step, she launches a powerful upward slash. Linking [Blazing Slash] after a [burn attack] skips the backward step.

Ultimate: Perpetual Resurrection & Soul-Searching Blaze

Phoenix's Ultimate has two parts. Among them, [Perpetual Resurrection] is the attack skill, consumes all of her HP and triggers an explosion, enters the [Wither] state, and triggers the next Agent's Quick Support. After the move is used, if you continue tapping Basic Attack, switch back to Phoenix, or bring Phoenix in through Quick Support and Parry Assist, she can trigger [Soul-Searching Blaze], dealing area damage, exiting the [Wither] state, and continuously restoring HP.

When the final blow hits an enemy in Anomaly state, [Abloom] is triggered, and the crit damage of that [Abloom] is increased by 40%.
Mindscape Analysis
Mindscape 1: Lingering Pain and Thrilling Procession

On entering combat, gain 1 [Ascension], allowing direct use of the Enhanced Special Attack [Blazing Slash] into basic attacks to start the burst, and also trigger Freedom Blues. Also, [Pyre] gain efficiency is increased, and when the team triggers Anomaly damage, crit damage gets an extra 25% boost. This Mindscape balances damage, rotation, and burst. The team-wide boost is close to 20%, making it a turning-point Mindscape. If you have budget, it is worth pulling.
Mindscape 2: Curiosity Won't Kill the Cat

It increases Burn duration by 2 seconds, which is equivalent to increasing Disorder or Vortex damage. Additionally, it grants Phoenix a 30% DMG bonus. This is a pure stat Mindscape. Since Phoenix doesn't have much DMG bonus in her kit, this Mindscape's improvement is decent as well, around 15%.
Mindscape 6: Notes From Confinement

Phoenix ignores all attribute RES of enemies when dealing damage. When she triggers EX Special Attack [Dazzling Flare], she gains 1 [Ascension], significantly increasing [Blazing Slash] frequency and speeding up Anomaly accumulation and [Pyre] rotation. Her [Abloom] damage can also ignore 40% DEF. This is a big personal boost, so you can consider getting it.
Pull Recommendation
0+1 → 1+1 → 2+1 → 6+1

Phoenix herself mainly brings Anomaly crit to the Remielle system. Functionally, she already completes her job. But Phoenix is actually short on stats, so when budget is enough, pulling her signature W-Engine is highly recommended, with a big improvement.

As for Mindscapes, 1+1 or 2+1 are both good stopping points for Phoenix. Mindscape 1 completes her mechanics, with solid stat gains. Mindscape 2 further fills in stats; pull it if your budget is enough.
As the first 3.0-era driver for the Remielle system, Phoenix has stats improved over previous Anomaly units, and her mechanics fit the Remielle system very well. If you haven't spent too much on the old drivers, Phoenix is a strongly recommended must-have reinforcement.
