Zenless Zone Zero Ver 2.2 New Electric Attack "Seed" - Agent Introduction

by ZZZLucien 28 Jul 2025

These days, Zenless Zone Zero has officially revealed two new Agents for Version 2.2: "Orphie & Magus" and "Seed". Among them, Agent "Seed" has sparked notable buzz-who would've thought this mech warrior contained a cute girl inside? What's the origin of this girl's name "Seed"? Let's explore this Agent's background today!

1. Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.2 New Agent - Seed

1.1 Agent Background & Design Inspiration

Seed is an Electric Attack Agent, expected to enter the Banner in the first half of Version 2.2 based on the release timeline of her artwork. With dynamic skill previews and official illustrations, she is confirmed as a limited S-Rank Agent.

The official Agent Record reveals Seed is composed of two entities: a blue-haired girl and the giant mech behind her. Voice actors in all languages are assigned separately-one for the girl, another for the mech.

So who exactly is "Seed"? In truth, "Seed" is merely the codename for a member of Obol Squad, just like Soldier 11 and Trigger are codenames. The Agent's name "Seed" likely originates from the term in the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED", with the full title "Superior Evolutionary Element Destined-factor"-meaning "Advanced Evolutionary Fate Gene."

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED

The previous generation Seed, "Seed Sr.", most likely sacrificed his human body to protect this girl, was transformed into a mech while retaining his consciousness. The current Seed is this girl, who resembles Grace in her love for mechanical research.

Seed also performs modifications on "Seed Sr.", such as adding stealth capabilities.

Interestingly, the Zenless Zone Zero development team hinted in the enemy "Specialized Assault Bomber" profile that heavy artillery units are all petite girls-smaller combat suits leave more space for ammunition storage.

1.2 Agent Attribute - Electric Attack

Zenless Zone Zero really favors Electric Attack Agents-Seed is the third limited S-Rank one, following Asaba Harumasa and Soldier 0 - Anby. Harumasa specializes in Daze burst DPS, while Anby focuses on sustained Aftershock DPS, seemingly covering two playstyles. How will Seed fit in?

ZZZ Seed Official Poster

Currently, we know Seed serves as the artillery operator in Obol Squad. Her primary skill involves piloting a mech to bombard enemies with heavy damage. The first-person perspective for mech operation is a unique gameplay feature, though it's not sustained throughout combat-only activated during her Ultimate.

Earlier, when analyzing attributes, we noted that Electric Agents are numerous but lack standout strength. Can Seed change this and become a top-tier DPS for the Electric attribute?

2. Agent Seed Voice Actors Introduction

It's worth mentioning the Chinese and Japanese voice actors for the new agent Seed. They are all renowned CVs familiar to us-let's take a look!

Chinese CV for "Seed" (Girl): Su Wan, known as the voice of Pearl from Ten Stonehearts in Honkai: Star Rail.

Chinese CV for "Seed Sr." (Mech): Zhao Zihan, the voice of Garvipidam, scholar of Summit and co-creator of Genius Invokation TCG in Genshin Impact.

Japanese CV for "Seed" (Girl): Yasuno Kiyono, renowned for voicing Megumi Kato in the anime Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend.

Japanese CV for "Seed Sr." (Mech): Tesshō Genda, famous for voicing Kurama in Naruto.

In summary, the new character in the first half of Version 2.2 is the Electric Attack DPS agent Seed, featuring a girl piloting a mech to bombard enemies. What are your thoughts on this innovative design? Feel free to share! And don't forget to follow our new articles and merchandises in site!
