Following Trigger, has ZZZ Coordinated Team really failed?
With the addition of Trigger, the Coordinated Team has begun taking initial shape. Today, I'll discuss the team's current status and future development from the perspectives of character mechanics, practical performance, and future reinforcements.
Of course, this article primarily reflects personal opinions. Currently, the Coordinated Team only consists of Anby and Trigger, and there may be better characters joining in the future. Please approach the current analysis of the Coordinated Team rationally.
1. Zenless Zone Zero Soldier 0 Anby's Core Mechanics
Currently, Soldier 0 Anby's damage resources can only be accumulated on enemies, making it difficult to clear mobs in Shiyu Defense. Soldier 0 Anby's burst consists of three normal attacks and one Coordinated Pursuit damage, with the advantage of extremely fast damage delivery and strong self-buff capabilities. However, the downside is clear: her multipliers are notably low. Her EX Special Attack and Ultimate multipliers are 5% to 8% lower than other characters.0
While Soldier 0 Anby can quickly accumulate resources through Dash Attacks, indicating a certain skill ceiling, her Dash Attacks remain challenging to use even after optimization, requiring player adaptation. As an Attack-type character, Soldier 0 Anby heavily relies on burst damage during the Break Period. In Shiyu Defense, she rarely lacks resources. However, in Deadly Assault, if players fail to manage rotations carefully, they may end up with no resources during the entire Break Period, forcing them to use normal attacks and waste the high Vulnerability Bonus. While this issue is common among on-field DPS characters, it remains Soldier 0 Anby's most minor flaw.

Additionally, Soldier 0 Anby inherently possesses a mechanism to boost the team's Coordinated Pursuit damage, but this effect remains lackluster when applied to Trigger. Trigger's low damage output renders this buff insignificant to her overall efficiency. Meanwhile, due to the high reward of Anby's Dash Attacks, her dodge mechanics differ from other characters-transitions between dodges are slower, and there are no invincibility frames between dashes. Even after optimizations, Soldier 0 Anby still faces these issues alongside targeting flaws in her skills. For example, her EX Special Attack requires continuous charging, which fails to fully energize if enemies perform major movements. The final charging phase of her Ultimate also suffers from the same targeting problems as her EX Special Attack.
2. Zenless Zone Zero Trigger's Core Mechanics
Trigger is essentially a backline Stun support. At 0+1, Trigger provides 35% permanent Vulnerability and 25% DEF Reduction. However, Trigger's own permanent buffs become diluted after enemies enter Stun. For example, Typhon, who innately has 200% Vulnerability, receives a 35% boost before Stun, but this drops to 17.5% after Stun, showing severe dilution. Additionally, whether building her for damage or pairing her with Anby using support sets, the final total damage difference remains minimal. Her advantage over Qingyi is giving Anby more time to accumulate and properly expend resources.

Trigger's heavy Coordinated Pursuit may override the extra Ultimate energy regeneration from Support characters. For instance, Nicole, Lucy, and Lina grant an additional 20 energy to on-field characters after using their Ultimates, but since Trigger's follow-up attacks count as on-field actions, this energy gain can be overridden. However, this issue can be avoided through skillful play and is considered a minor drawback.
From the Coordinated Team perspective, thanks to Astra Yao's powerful support, Nicole outperforms Trigger in all scenarios. Even in non-Coordinated Team setups (e.g., teams with Miyabi or Evelyn), Nicole's utility far exceeds Trigger's.
3. How should the Coordinated Team select the third member to synergize with Soldier 0 Anby?
When discussing the third member selection, Nicole is naturally the most suitable choice. Her DEF Reduction combined with Trigger's exclusive W-Engine DEF Reduction creates highly efficient reverse dilution benefits. Additionally, her quick-swap skills and Ultimate's energy restoration perfectly compensate for Anby's resource deficiencies. Her skill's DEF Reduction also fully covers Soldier 0 Anby's entire minor burst phase. This team composition flows smoothly without energy or Decibels bottlenecks. Moreover, 6-Mindscape Nicole provides CRIT Rate, alleviating Soldier 0 Anby's crit pressure.

Lucy performs slightly weaker than Nicole, only facing minor Decibels pressure during the first Break Period, which is easily manageable. While Lucy's buffing capability is lower than Nicole's, her simplicity of use without requiring complex rotation coordination is an advantage. Of course, this applies to 6-Mindscape Lucy-2-Mindscape Lucy still demands precise rotation coordination.
Rina herself is an awkward fit in this team composition. In most teams, she requires at least 1 Mindscape to avoid extremely poor handling, necessitating Nicole's involvement. Moreover, her Penetration Rate dilutes with Trigger's exclusive W-Engine DEF Reduction. However, she's not unusable-1-Mindscape Rina offers simple operation without rotation coordination, with slightly higher buffing capability than Lucy.

Looking at Astra Yao, her mechanics objectively don't synergize well with Soldier 0 Anby. The two extra Coordinated Attacks and team-wide buffs provide limited overall improvement due to Trigger's damage ceiling constraints. Additionally, her Ultimate's lack of energy restoration causes slight clunkiness for Soldier 0 Anby. Nevertheless, Astra Yao's exaggerated buff potency still makes her the optimal third member.

Finally, considering Caesar: her advantage lies in enabling Anby to attack freely-shield protection prevents extra damage, making Dash Attacks easier to trigger. However, her flaws are significant. At 0+1, Caesar's buffing strength is comparable to Rina's. Furthermore, her Ultimate is mostly useless and time-consuming in most scenarios, while also failing to provide Decibels or energy for the team. Ultimately, her practical performance only slightly surpasses Lucy's.

There's another scenario to consider: simulating what happens when Trigger is absent from the team. In this case, you can form the strongest composition using Soldier 0 Anby, Nicole, and Astra Yao. The two Coordinated Attacks provided by Astra Yao are fully utilized in this setup, not only improving Nicole's DEF Reduction uptime but also supplying Soldier 0 Anby with the much-needed Decibels, enabling Ultimate usage in every rotation during Deadly Assault. This unique synergy creates the highest-ceiling team for Deadly Assault, though its performance in Shiyu Defense is average.
4. Potential Future Enhancements and Summary for the Coordinated Team
First, let's discuss reinforcement directions. The simplest approach is through the "wallet"-pulling a 1+1 Trigger. Environmental adjustments could include adding enemies with lower post-Stun Vulnerability multipliers to reduce Trigger's Vulnerability dilution, though such changes would disadvantage other characters. Alternatively, introducing enemies with shorter Stun durations could forcibly boost Trigger's Vulnerability effectiveness, still being unfavorable to others. Another solution is adding enemies with movement patterns highly compatible with Soldier 0 Anby.

Regarding future characters, the Coordinated Team urgently needs a Support role. Ideally, this role should provide Ultimate energy or Decibels restoration to address Soldier 0 Anby's resource shortages, while offering unique Coordinated Pursuit damage multipliers similar to Astra Yao's exclusive buffs for Evelyn. This role could sacrifice the team's support capabilities, directly transferring Trigger's buffs to the main DPS.
However, considering the current state, the Coordinated Team's characters and systems remain incomplete. Trigger might not be the only solution paired with Soldier 0 Anby, and future versions will likely introduce more characters to enhance the Coordinated system. The current environment simply doesn't favor the Coordinated Team. Perhaps what Rope Craftsmen should do is wait for the true core of the Coordinated Team to emerge.
The above covers all aspects of the Coordinated Team's current status. This article contains many personal opinions-please assess them rationally. Objectively speaking, the Coordinated Team has extremely high potential. Its current limitations largely stem from environmental and character selection issues. I believe that with the addition of more Coordinated characters, the system will undergo significant changes. Of course, stay tuned for future articles and Zenless Zone Zero merchandise!
